James's bio:

From laid-back house to peak time pumping techno, James Francis is always ready and willing to give the crowd exactly what they need.  James first got involved in the EDM scene in his home town of Liverpool (UK) where he played at some of the cities best underground venues and club nights including Nation, Baby Cream, The O2 Academy, The Magnet, Club So, The Lemon Lounge, Equinox & Solstice to name a few.  After a string of successful gigs James decided to take the next step and start putting on his own parties with fellow DJ Alan Culvin, which they called Abstract.  With an anything goes music policy and quality selection of DJ’s Abstract @ The Magnet quickly became one of Liverpool’s best underground club nights!  As well as running his own club night James also wanted to break into music production, so he signed up to take a 6 month Electronic Music Production Course at the Liverpool branch of the world famous S.A.E. Institute and gained his first experience in the studio!  Not long after completing his course James decided to make the biggest move of his life so far, all the way to Perth, Australia!  After arriving in Perth James decided to further his musical education by attending the Perth branch of the S.A.E. Institute and completed a 2-year course to gain a Diploma in Audio Engineering & Music Industry.  Now, armed with all the tools he needs James is about to unleash his own unique take on house and techno upon Perth and the rest of the world.   DJ.  Promoter.  Music producer.  James Francis.

This competition was brought to you by Global Underground & Saved Records in association with Native Instruments.
